Chevron Lace Scarf completed

Chevron Lace Scarf is finally done. After blocking it turned out to be twice as long as I originally thought it would be. The fabric rolled into a spiral while knitting, and I didn't take that into consideration when I eye-balled the length of the scarf. I'm glad that I made a decision to wrap it up so I could ship all the items in time. It could have turned out to be ridiculously long. Anyway, it's blocked and ready to go with the other items. Oh, the fabric is super super soft after web blocking. Nice.

That's a lovely scarf. Longer scarf is always good ... I like it. :)

Maybe you could agressively block it to be wider rather than longer. But in my opinion, longer is always better for scarves. Fabu job!

You're coming Thursday, yes? (nudge, nudge... you know you wanna...)

Hey Agnes! Yes, I like long scarves too. Am really glad it stretched so I wouldn't feel like it is half-done. :-)

Oh yes, Sachi. I wanna. I really wanna. I just might surprise you by showing up. Or will it frighten everybody instead? LOL

I really like red this year, but that's not why I like your scarf. I like it because it's long, and long scarves are the best. The more turns you can wrap it around your neck, the warmer you'll be(or in this case, someone in Mongolia will be :D )

Oh, I'm so glad you said that! Yes, wet blocking is an absolute necessity to finish your knitting properly. I cannot over-emphasize that too much!

You will find that your work changes so much after washing: it may get longer, or wider, or soften up, or get smaller, or the stitches even up, or... anything else! What may appear less than perfect will improve at least 102% after a good bath in warm soapy water -- even your knitting! LOL

Great job!

Hey Knit Picking! Yep, someone will be able to wrap that scarf around several turns to keep warm. And it is really soft. :-)

Hey Kenny! Thanks! I don't miss any of your posts. I am just quiet. LOL

Hey Tallguy! Thanks! :-) I really love wet blocking. I don't even mind the wet wool smell anymore. :-) I'll have to see what it will do to the lace that I am knitting. I need magic to happen for that one. LOL

My family stands around watching the transformation when I wet block. They love it when a shawl starts as a little lumpy blob and grows and grows and grows!

Your scarf looks delicious. Lovely work! --Sylvia

Thanks Sylvia! I was pleasantly surprised at how the scar turned out myself. :-) I can't wait to see what happens when I block "Violets".
