Big decision

Just a quick post. It's been a while since my last one. Very very busy. I thought about quitting the blog but decided against it. I'll just post whenever I can.

What's the big decision? Well. It looks like there's a strong possibility that we'll be moving north. This had been brought up before many times. But I think this time it is serious. Our CEO wants us up there with them in the main office, which is located in Los Altos. It can be as soon as next Spring.

I imagine that we will drive up and look around for a nice neighborhood. It will probably be somewhere between San Francisco and San Jose. I don't want to be in a big busy city that's for sure.

I don't know much about the left coast but life in the suburbs isn't all that bad. I think mileage to the closest LYS should definately be a factor in choosing a new locale

Oh, Jason! You'd be nearby! The knitting and spinning community up here is wonderful. Tell me when and I'll see how I can help. Craigslist is pretty good for finding domiciles. It's pretty much continuous housing and businesses for the entire peninsula, but there are really nice neighborhoods, enclaves, easy access to open space, etc. It's definitely worth coming up to look.

I've been a bit under the weather and apologize for falling behind in correspondence. --Syl

Jason,

Please don't give up the blog. Just post when you can! There are alot of knitters/spinners/crafters up here so once you settle in I know it would not be that hard to find like-minded folks. But does that mean you will be further away from your family? That could suck alot for sure. It would be a deal-breaker for me. Hope to hear what you decide either way.

Well Jason, you've written in the past about moving to SF, this gets you a bit closer. Good luck.

Like Los Angeles, you mean. Would it be so bad to be out of there?

Do you need me to house-sit your place in Beverly Hills for a year or two? I could make a sacrifice like that for a while. I'm just saying....

Seriously, good luck with the move. I loooove moving to a new city and am eager to hear some updates!

I'm about 20 mins north of San Jose. We have lots of wonderful knitting stores in the area, but not much for spinners that I can find. Thanks so much for your calendar...I've just discovered Stick and Stone and scheduled a spinning lesson! I'm in the SF Valley often because my mother lives down there-LOL!

Oh ... Full Thread Ahead (a yarn store) is in Los Altos! You can consider Sunnyvale or Saratoga where there are lovely yarn stores too! :)
