9 rows done, 9 more rows to go. Well, that sounds misleadingly simple as there's one more violet added to each proceeding row. So, that's 45 violets done and 126 more to go. Hmm... maybe I didn't need to know that. LOLTed's modification is working really well. The right and left sides now look more balanced. I am also using a lifeline religiously. I move the line up after completion of each row of violets. It's already saved me a few times.
It took a bit of getting-used-to again when I picked "Violets" back up. It's just a big switch from working with worsted weight to lace weight. I can't wait to get to the Running River pattern which I've never sampled. Also, I will have to deal with joining yarn ends when the first ball of yarn runs out. That will be a first too. Lots to learn.

'Violets' is looking good, and I love the colour you've chosen.
Over the years, I've learned one thing (I realize this makes me sound like I'm 75 years old): On a larger project, DON'T DO THE MATH! It usually gets me discouraged at my progress, or lack of.

Your work is beautiful, very even, and the gauge looks just right. The color really shows the lace, too.

Kerry, it was easy picking out the color. This will be for my friend Dorothy and she likes red. This is the only color that's reddish for this yarn. Problem solved. LOL
Knit Picking, I did the math on the Bobble Hat too, didn't I? LOL Although the bobbles did really hurt and it didn't help when I realzed how many I had to do. :-)
Charles, other than wanting to finish soon so I can gift it to my friend, it was actually quite calming. I started knitting it on Saturday when I was too tired to do anything else. It was quite meditative. The finished size should be around 41" x 51". I used KnitPicks' Shadow.

Violets looks great. I would go with the 9 rows of violets to go as well. It's much nicer to count repeat rows than actual rows.
