More Dulaan Knitting

1. Simple blue hat from Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. Knitted with Rowan Big Wool. This one is a quick knit.

2. "Bobbi" from Cathy Carron's Hip Knit Hats. Knitted with Brown Sheep Yarn. Total of 90 bobbles in the medium hat pattern. My first time knitting bobbles. Really made my hands hurt. LOL It's also my first time knitting top-down hat. Her instructions are not very clear. At least not to me.

3. Chevron Lace Scarf, a pattern from Knitter's Edge, a paid membership website co-founded by Tricia Schafer. Knitted with Brown Sheep Yarn. Tricia knits samples for my LYS. The last time that I saw her there she did a little promoting for her website. The pattern is cute and easy. Lots of mistakes in the pattern though. After a few failed attempts I realized there were mistakes in the instructions. After correcting the pattern it worked beautifully.

All yarn donated by Gerald. Thanks again! :-)

Jason, your bobbles are beautifully tidy for a first timer! You do lovely work; Dulaan is an inspiration. Have you been to any Dulaan get-togethers where you live? The group up here is a joy. --Sylvia

Great stuff! How do you get your bobbles to stand out like that?? Every time I do bobbles, they always ended up kind of flat....maybe I should try bobbles with chunky yarn.

Look at that. Three weeks ago you were angsting about lace. Now you're correcting the errors in a lace pattern. What's next?

Thanks Sylvia! :-) The first few bobbles were tight! I had to learn to relax my tension to knit 6 times into one stitch. I don't know if there's a Dulaan get-together in my area. From reading KnitDad's blog I gathered that there's one in Pasadena or around where he lives. I'll do a search on Google.

Thanks Aija! :-)

Thanks Elemmaciltur! I just followed the instructions carefully. :-) The yarn I used was worsted weight actually. I made sure the last step of the bobble making was neat and tight so it wasn't hanging loose there.

Thanks Charles! :-)

You are teasing me Ted! :-) The pattern is only 11x15. She misplaced half of the YOs. You would've seen the mistakes before casting on. I had to knit it a few times to realize that. :-)

You're doing amazing knitting!

I'm working on socks while on the road!

Hey Gerald, thanks! :-) Have lots of fun on your trip and drive safely! Take lots of pictures! If you get a chance on the road, come by the blog and drop a message. :-) Hugs!

I'm on the road too. Don't I get hugs?

The hats look great! Bobbles are fun but I tend to get impatient with them after I've done a handful.

The chevron lace is going to be primo! It's shaping up nicely!!!

Thanks Jerry! :-) You know, I saw the picture of the hat and said "how cute!" I started knitting without counting the bobbles. After one row of 18 bobbles and thought, "this is a lot of bobbles," and decided to figure out how many I had to do. I almost fainted. LOL

This is very cool! It's funny to see some many great Dulaan items when I had to send mine in ages ago. I guess you're right near Arizona though . . .so you can take your time and still meet the deadline.

Nice work!!

Thanks Matt! Yeah, Arazona is near, but I'm crossing my fingers. Them postal service can be funny sometimes.
