Learn-To-Knit-Afghan

These are the yarns for the new learning project. They are all Wool of the Andes from KnitPicks. The colors are Fern (looks familiar Dave?), Winter Night, Wheat and Carrot. Chestnut for the borders when putting the squares together. Inspiration for the colors are from our livingroom. But I honestly don't know if it's going to be used in there or not. I can't wait to get started.

I have picked out two patterns from Vogue Knitting's Baby Knits Two for my friend's triplets. One is Origami Baby Jacket. I'm making two of these. The other is an Aran Pullover. Both patterns call for 100% Wool. I think I'm going to use Superwash Wool or some kind of Wool blend so they are machine washable. I don't think she has time to hand wash! :-) Now I have to shop for yarn. Oh! And yarn for the Dulaan Project!

Toe Jazz Update

Working on the heel flap now. I haven't been knitting much in the past few days. I do want to speed up and try to finish it by Saturday.

That fern yarn looks great as ONE skein. It's the dozens of them I have ganging up on me, trying to form themselves into a sweater. I like the color combination you chose.

Yeah, buy acrylic yarns for the kids . .. they are easy to wash up after!!! I recommend Bernat's Softee Chuky if you can find it . . . it's my new favourite acrylic yarn :)

Andrew, great song! Keep up the good work!

Dave, I had to get 53 balls for the afghan. Yikes! But one square at a time should keep it fun. I think.

Matthew, just placed an order for some kid-friendly yarns yesterday. Can't wait to get started. Will make some hats and mittens for the Dulaan kids.

Charles, handwash stresses me out too. But we can always take them to the dry cleaner. :-) I'm sure KnitPicks will introduce more yarn in the future. Maybe we should request for some worsted weight machine washable wool! :-) I like the new cotton yarn for this Summer. Wonder what I can do with them.
